Who We Are at Elbert County Sheriff's Posse?
Our Vision
Posse Members are unpaid sworn volunteer employees of the Sheriff’s Office who perform services in support of the Sheriff’s Office. Posse Members aid and assist law enforcement and emergency services personnel, search & rescue, fire services, and security duty at county and community events.
Community Events
Providing security for local events, such as Rodeos and Parades.

Search and Rescue/Recovery
Providing the resources for Search and Rescue, or even recovery. We often partner with Arapahoe Rescue Patrol during this effort.
Training
We provide Concealed Handgun Permit Training and Firearms Safety Training.
Road Closures
We provide resources to close roads during storms, natural disasters, and traffic accidents.
